Pastor Phoebe Frimpong
I serve as the branch Pastor of our church plant in Reading. Having had the privilege to be raised in Christ by Pastor David, I have developed a deep appreciation for God’s Word and serving God.
I love helping people to understand the Word of God. I am passionate about helping people to learn how to practically serve God.
My greatest desire is to see people living ‘their best lives’ in Christ and helping them to see their full potential in Him. I am excited to see God revive this land and this generation in our days.
I live in Reading with my wonderful husband and our children.
About our church
Kharis Church Reading (KCR) is a revival-seeking, dynamic and lively church in the heart of Reading town. We are passionate about Christ, and genuinely believe that you can only live your best life in Christ alone.
In KCR we committed to Jesus’s command to “go and make disciples…” (Matthew 28:19) and believe that every soul that comes to church should be discipled and eventually disciple others. We are a loving family and can assuredly say that, upon joining, you will find friends who are also committed to helping you along your journey.
As well as helping you grow in your faith, we are interested in the development of the individual in their personal life to ensure that they go on to live a victorious life in Christ. This is carried out in a number of ways.
There are many opportunities to serve in church and to be a part of the church workforce. So whether it is singing, dance or graphic design that you enjoy, there are many opportunities to use the gifts and talents God has given you for His glory.
As a church committed to evangelism, we are regularly out preaching the Gospel. So, as you go through Reading town you may also spot a bright yellow jumper or two.

No, you are not required to be a Christian to attend our church services. We warmly welcome individuals of all backgrounds, beliefs, and stages of faith to join us.
Yes, parking facilities are available at Queen Anne’s School for everyone attending our services.
Yes, children are very welcome at our church. We offer Sunday School for ages 3–14 during Sunday services; however, children are also welcome to attend Wednesday services.
We encourage you to wear whatever you feel most comfortable in but most importantly, come with an open heart, ready to hear from God.
At Kharis, you can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere, times of worship and prayer in God’s presence, and a Bible-based message. Our services are designed to be engaging, accessible, and meaningful for all.
Several Reading Buses services run to Queen Anne’s School from Friar Street (town
centre) or Reading Railway Station:
- Bus 23 — To church: alight Westfield Road (10 min walk). Return: board at Hemdean Hill.
- Bus 24 — To church: alight Hemdean Hill or Caversham Library. Return: board at
Westfield Road. - Bus 25 — To church: alight Westfield Road or Prospect Street. Return: same stops.
- Aqua 28 — To church: alight Westfield Road. Return: board opposite side of the road.
